  • The Scarlet Macaw – Carara National Park

Birdwatchers rave about the Carara National Park area because it’s comprised of two distinctive bio-zones, each hosting a variety of birds, including one of the largest remaining wild populations of Scarlet Macaws in Costa Rica. The national park is located in a transitional rainforest between the dry North Pacific Coast and the very wet South Pacific Coast. There are a variety of humid tropical orchids, insects, mammals and birds that can be spotted in Carara. Our professional guide will lead you through this spectacular primary rainforest reserve on a non-strenuous 2.5 – 3 hour guided hike. The guides regularly spot White- throated Capuchin and Howler monkeys, Scarlet Macaws, Lapas or Sloths. Book Now
