The completely restored boutique mountain hotel, recreated from the original farm village architecture of rural Costa Rica, is becoming the new preferred choice for both local and multi-national corporations outside of San Jose. Commencing with the planning stages, our years of experience, combined with a unique cloud forest atmosphere, provide the ideal venue to meet your every expectation and deliver a successful program. Our Event Specialist Coordinator and their team are a ways on stand-by, ready to help resolve unexpected glitches or last minute changes you may request.

Villa Blanca also offers many other boutique hotel services ranging from our Serenity Spa and Wellness Center to specialized guided nature tours within the hotel’s 75 private acres. The user-friendly walking trails include the popular Cloud Forest Guided Day and Night Tours, self-guided nature interpretive trails, and special research station operated by INBio with over 1000 native species of Butterflies identified so far, including the largest moth in the world.

Another special feature of Villa Blanca is our customized multi-media theater that can be utilized to meet various requirements for up to 35 participants. To complement the meeting schedules and other activities, our F & B services include a private dining and meeting room named El Silencio, and other dining options in the Restaurant El Sendero, plus El Mirador game room overlooking the botanical gardens with the backdrop of Arenal Volcano. Unique only to Villa Blanca is the Mariana Chapel, with its hand painted ceramic ceiling, surrounded by the 2000 acre Los Angeles Private Cloud Forest Biological Reserve created by President Rodrigo and Estrella Carazo, whose family still operates the neighboring dairy farm, including Canopy Platforms and kilometers of guided horseback trails.

Since the late 1980’s, Jim’s vision was to have a role in sustainable hospitality in Costa Rica, helping the country expand its efforts in Eco-tourism His first tourism project in Costa Rica was to build Si Como No Resort Spa & Wildlife Refuge in Manuel Antonio, almost than 18 years ago. The design and operational vision for the hotel was to be a leader in green practices and economic sustainability for the local community. In 2004, a second hotel, Villa Blanca, was acquired and along with Aguila de Osa in Drake Bay, came under the “umbrella” brand of Green Hotels of Costa Rica, now called Greentique Hotels. The mission was to integrate best green practices, including operations, community support and the creation of nature-based experiences owned and operated by the hotels that would engage and educate tourists, involving them in unique experiences that are an extension of the original Si Como No philosophy. Greentique Hotels are active members of various conservation programs including C.S.T., a conservation program created by the Costa Rican Tourism Board for a qualified group of Costa Rican hotels. Currently both Si Como No and Villa Blanca retain Five Green Leaves by the Certification Committee of CST, a ranking that only few other hotel properties have attained to date in Costa Rica.
