Starting in the colorful town of Bajo Zúñiga, you’ll visit a working vegetable farm and coffee plantation. Stopping at various sections of the farm, you’ll see how the principles and practice of organic agriculture are applied, a blend of time honored techniques and new innovations. Then quench your thirst with the crystalline water of La Paz River.
Continuing to the Piedades Norte district, you’ll tour an authentic sugar mill operated by the Los Arias family. As part of this fascinating experience, you’ll taste the delicious homemade candies, the “Sobado”. This very popular candy is made of boiled sugar cane juice, powdered milk, and peanuts.
Then, before returning to Villa Blanca, you’ll savor the true variety of Costa Rican gastronomy, including Olla de Carne, Casados, and Picadillo de Papa y Arracache.
