Perfect for a honeymoon. My husband and I had the time of our lives at the peaceful Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel. You won’t be disappointed if you’re looking for a special place to make lasting memories. The staff was extremely friendly, and we loved that the restaurant served dishes prepared with vegetables grown on-site. The casitas were a welcome refuge from typical hotel decor and the gigantic jacuzzi tub was wonderful for a relaxing bath. It was our first time in the cloud forest, which was unlike any other place on Earth. I highly recommend making a stop here during a trip to Costa Rica.
Romance is Villa Blanca. Staff was incredible, our room was a stand alone cottage with fireplace and patio. I even had wi-fi which amazed me. The cloud forest was spectacular and the hotel arranged a tour guide that explained more then I could have imagined. I’m not into bird watching but I did find myself addicted to it while there. They have a spa on property and even a state of the art screening room/theater if you want to catch up on a few movies. The hotel boasts that they are Eco friendly and self sustaining. How cool was it to watch my wife try to milk a cow in the morning when they asked if we wanted to experience that. There is a research center on property and you will be fascinated with what is being explored and developed. But the greatest asset is the natural beauty, serenity and overall retreat qualities. There is a beautiful non- denominational chapel on property that was built by an ex- President of Costa Rica for his wife on their 50th Anniversary. I understand it is available for weddings so if you are looking to get married in an exotic destination, this place is for you. I will return.
This place is so special and lovely that we chose it as the location for our wedding! All of our guests were blown away at the beauty of the surroundings and only had positive comments about the hotel. The staff is extremely nice and helpful, always willing to make your stay the best! Even though they usually have small weddings, they were able to do an spectacular job at our larger wedding (100 people). The food is so amazing that I consider it one of the best restaurants in Costa Rica! The fact that they use local produce and most vegetables are grown in the hotel itself makes for very fresh and delicious food. The rooms are very nice, great for romantic escapades. The weather is cold so the chimneys are a plus! I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. If you want to have an amazing visit to the cloud forest this is the place to go!
Amazing place for a weddingI normally don’t write reviews but in this case I had to let the world know that I got married in this amazing place. Everything was incredible from the service to the food. I had my dream wedding with my entire family from the USA. Everyone was amazed by this incredible place and how perfect it was. The little chapel and the scenery was so beautiful. At first I was nervous about having a destination wedding but once I arrived I was taken away by its charm. I arranged my entire wedding via email and phone calls with Juan Carlos. He took care of every detail. I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect.
Everything went as planed and Villa Blanca beautiful as always, we have no complaints everybody was so attentive to our needs. We will print the photos and send you copies!
Our stay at Villa Blanca was truly magical from the misty mornings to the Coati Mundi’s who tried to eat lunch with us on the patio: everything was wonderful. We discovered in a walk the lovely forest, the luscious vegetable garden and the unexpected chapel. The ceiling of the chapel is lined with hand painted ceramic tiles of angels of all sorts. I photographed them and when I returned home, I transferred the photos to fabric and made a quilt for my new granddaughter. It is a beautiful reminder of a lovely stay and unforgettable angels. The food was also delicious, gourmet and supplicated.
We spend a weekend in Villa Blanca and really experienced a unique place with excellent service, warm and romantic “Casitas” including the fireplace and excellent food at the restaurant. Unforgettable time and highly recommended for honeymooners.
We recently honeymooned in Costa Rica. Our first destination was Villa Blanca. We loved this boutique hotel. Costa Rica is known as a country that really cares about the environment. Villa Blanca is one of the top sustainable “green” or environmentally conscious hotels. Their web site has more info about this. We appreciated that they made their own organic cheeses and yogurt from their dairy cows (my wife even got to milk her first cow while we were there) and they grow herbs and vegetables for their restaurant. Their research station is small, but was an interesting stop. There are a number of flowering plants around the research station, as well as the property and they attract lots of hummingbirds as well as butterflies. One thing my wife and I both felt is that we were treated like extended family.
…we require only a few bits of information to get started, but the more you tell us about what you have in mind, the better and more relevant our response will be.
